Select the 65 Deluxe Reverb or 57 Deluxe model — pushed Volume with moderate Gain on the Deluxe model produces the Fender touch-sensitive breakup that blues tone requires. Mid at 7 keeps the tone forward and cutting in a band context.
The 65 Twin Reverb model at low Gain and higher Volume — maximum headroom for single-coil funk playing. Treble at 6 provides Stratocaster snap. Add compression from the built-in effects chain for rhythm funk playing.
High-gain American model at maximum Gain — the GTX50's metal models are based on Mesa-style circuits. Scooped Mids and boosted Bass with Treble at 6 produces the modern metal character. Use the built-in noise gate effect.
