ToneStakr is a free online guitar tone reference tool. The Site provides tone guides, budget rig breakdowns, gear recommendations and a rig-builder tool to help guitarists understand and recreate the sounds of well-known artists.

ToneStakr is an independent publication and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any of the artists, brands, manufacturers or retailers referenced on the Site. All artist names, band names and product names are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational and editorial purposes only.

By accessing any page on the Site, you accept these Terms in full. If you are using the Site on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes, including:

• Using the Rig Builder tool to plan a guitar rig

Prohibited uses

You may quote brief excerpts from the Site for editorial or review purposes, provided that clear attribution to ToneStakr is given and a link to the original page is included. Republishing full articles, pages or substantial content without permission is prohibited.

Artist names and product references

All artist names, song titles, album titles, brand names and product names referenced on the Site remain the property of their respective owners. Their use on ToneStakr is purely for informational and educational purposes and does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement.

Images

Images of artists displayed on the Site are used under licence or sourced from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons licences where applicable. Proper attribution is provided where required. If you believe any image has been used in error, please contact us and we will address the matter promptly.

ToneStakr is an informational reference resource. We make every reasonable effort to ensure the accuracy of gear information, tone descriptions and product recommendations. However:

• Gear specifications, prices and availability change over time and may differ from what is displayed on the Site
• Tone descriptions and rig guides reflect our editorial assessment and research — they are not guaranteed to reproduce any artist's exact sound
• Product prices shown are estimates and may not reflect current retail pricing
• Product availability varies by region, retailer and time

We recommend verifying current pricing and specifications directly with retailers before making any purchase decisions.

Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, ToneStakr may earn a small commission from the retailer. This is at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content or gear recommendations. We only recommend products we genuinely believe are suitable for the purpose described.

ToneStakr participates in affiliate programmes which may include Amazon Associates (amazon.co.uk and amazon.com) and other music equipment retailer programmes. When affiliate links are present, they will be clearly indicated.

All purchases made through affiliate or third-party links are subject to the terms, conditions and policies of the respective retailer. We are not a party to any transaction made between you and a third-party retailer and bear no responsibility for those transactions.

The Site displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. These advertisements are selected and served automatically by Google based on the content of the page and, where consent has been given, your browsing history.

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, ToneStakr disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

• That gear recommendations will achieve any particular tonal result

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under UK law.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ToneStakr shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.

In particular, ToneStakr accepts no liability for:

• Loss of profit, data, goodwill or anticipated savings
• Purchases made based on information displayed on the Site
• Transactions entered into with third-party retailers via affiliate links
• Technical failures, downtime or errors on the Site
• Any reliance placed on the content of the Site

Where liability cannot be excluded under UK consumer law, our total liability to you shall not exceed £100 (one hundred pounds sterling).
