Fender Twin Reverb
Fender · AmpThe Fender Twin Reverb is the most used country amp in Nashville — 85W of 6L6 headroom ensures it never breaks up at stage volume regardless of how hard a Telecaster is played. The twin 12" Jensen speakers produce the full, even frequency response that chicken-picking requires. Built-in spring reverb eliminates a pedal from the board.
Country settings on this unit:
The Twin Reverb is the country guitar amplifier — maximum clean headroom, high Treble and Presence for the glassy brightness Telecasters need, Reverb at 4 for the spring ambience that country recording always has. Keep Volume low for maximum headroom; use a compression pedal (Keeley Compressor, MXR Dyna Comp) before the amp for the Nashville squish. Brad Paisley, Brent Mason, and virtually every Nashville session player uses this setup or a close variant.
Strengths
- Extraordinary clean headroom — the Telecaster never pushes this amp into overdrive
- Twin 12" Jensen speakers produce the broad, even response country picking needs
- Built-in spring reverb is the industry-standard country reverb sound
Worth knowing
Very heavy and very loud — not suitable for small venues without miking or for home use. The Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb is a lighter digital alternative at the same price point.
