About the Rangemaster Treble Booster
The Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster was designed in the 1960s to cut through PA systems in British clubs. Its germanium transistor circuit boosts treble frequencies rather than the full-range signal, pushing the input of a Vox or Marshall into a cutting, compressed overdrive. Tony Iommi and Brian May both used treble boosters to push their Laney and AC30 amps. The Rangemaster defined British 1970s guitar tone.
