The MXR Dyna Comp is one of the simplest and most musical compressors in pedal history. Its two-control CA3080 op-amp circuit produces a punchy, slightly coloured squash that adds sustain and evening-out dynamics in a pleasing way. Country players love it for the characteristic 'twang' compression it adds to Telecaster tones. Jimmy Page used a Dyna Comp to add sustain to his Page/Plant acoustic work, and it's a staple of country guitar boards.
