The TC Electronic 2290 algorithm is one of the most referenced studio digital delays — clean, precise, and transparent. At moderate settings this is an uncoloured delay that lets the guitar tone come through unchanged while adding spatial depth.
Short Delay, single repeat — slapback in the 2290 or Tape mode. The Flashback 2's Tape mode adds warmth to the slapback; 2290 mode keeps it clean and digital.
Shimmer mode — delay combined with pitch shift (usually an octave up) in the repeats. Long Delay and high Feedback create the swelling, orchestral reverb-adjacent effect. TC's shimmer mode is a natural fit for post-rock and ambient guitar playing.
TonePrint slot — load an artist-designed preset via the TC Electronic TonePrint app. The Edge (U2) TonePrint for the Flashback provides his dotted-eighth delay setup; Brad Paisley's TonePrint provides his slapback configuration.
