TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Settings Guide

The TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 is TC's flagship compact reverb pedal — 10 reverb types (Room, Hall, Spring, Church, Arena, Shimmer, Lofi, etc.) plus 3 TonePrint slots (user-loadable custom algorithms). The addition of the MASH technology (pressure-sensitive footswitch) allows real-time control of a reverb parameter via foot pressure — a unique expressive feature. Stereo I/O for stereo reverb output.

The best TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 settings start with: Decay at 5/10, Pre at 3/10, Mix at 4/10. Adjust from there based on your amp, guitar, and room volume. For Blues (Spring): Decay 4/10, Pre 2/10, Mix 4/10.

Settings by Genre

Blues (Spring)
Decay4
Pre2
Mix4

Spring mode — TC's spring reverb emulation. Moderate Decay and low Pre-delay for a natural spring reverb response. Mix at 4 keeps it under the dry signal. The Hall of Fame 2's spring algorithm is faithful to the drip-and-slosh character of physical spring reverb units.

Ambient (Hall)
Decay8
Pre4
Mix6

Hall mode with long Decay — the largest, most spacious reverb type in the HoF 2. Pre-delay at 4 adds a brief silence before the reverb onset, separating the dry attack from the reverb tail. Used in ambient and post-rock where the reverb space is the primary tonal concern.

Studio (Plate)
Decay5
Pre3
Mix3

Plate mode at moderate settings — the bright, slightly metallic plate reverb character. Low Mix keeps the reverb subtle. Used for adding studio-quality reverb to lead tones where the reverb enhances rather than dominates.

Shimmer
Decay7
Pre2
Mix5

Shimmer mode — pitch-shifted reverb. Decay at 7 allows the shimmer to build. The HoF 2's shimmer algorithm is effective; the octave-up content adds an orchestral quality to sustained notes.

Tips & Common Mistakes

  • MASH technology (pressure-sensitive footswitch) allows real-time foot pressure control of one reverb parameter — by default it controls the reverb size or intensity. Pressing harder on the switch increases the controlled parameter, then releases when foot pressure is removed. This allows expressive reverb swells during performance.
  • TonePrint slots allow loading any Hall of Fame reverb preset from the TC Electronic app, including artist-designed presets. The app provides a large library of reverb configurations beyond the built-in types.
