About the Telecaster

The Fender Telecaster, introduced in 1951, was the world's first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar. Its bridge single-coil pickup produces the twangy, snappy tone that defines country and classic rock. Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, and Brad Paisley all built their sound around the Telecaster's direct, no-nonsense character. Ash or alder body versions have distinct tonal differences.
