What Makes This Sound Unique
Fully orchestral and multi-layered — Roth's first Electric Sun album shows him pursuing the synthesiser-guitar hybrid concept before the technology to do it properly existed. The lead tone is his most refined, using the extra-fret Strat to access violin-register notes.

Amp Settings
Tape delay adds a slight rhythmic echo that creates the orchestral layering effect. The extra high-register notes on the Sky Guitar prototype ring above the 24th fret.

How to Play It
Extreme upper-register playing using the extended fretboard — Roth was physically accessing notes unavailable to other guitarists by this point.

Achievable With
Standard Strat bridge pickup → JCM800 → MXR Carbon Copy delay (slapback). The upper-register notes are limited to 24-fret instruments at minimum.
