Vox AC30 at moderate volume — The Edge's signature tone is almost entirely in the delay settings (Korg SDD-3000, Line 6 DL4). Relatively clean amp with slight natural breakup. Dotted-eighth delay is the defining element.

All values on a 0–10 scale. Adjust by ear — room acoustics and specific amp variants affect the exact position.

Getting the Most From Your Amp

  • Keep the amp clean and use pedals for drive — the amp's headroom lets the pedals breathe.
  • Don't scoop the mids. The Edge's mid-forward voicing is essential to cut through the mix.
  • Use reverb generouslyThe Edge's tone relies on spatial depth.
  • Master volume matters — many classic tones only work at significant volume when tubes are working hard.
