How to Play It

Hybrid picking (chicken pickin') — simultaneously holding a flat pick between thumb and index finger while using middle and ring fingers to snap the treble strings. The finger snap creates a sharp attack "pop" on the treble strings while the pick handles the bass strings. The combination produces the characteristic staccato country sound.
