What Makes This Sound Unique
Schenker's post-UFO solo debut — a slightly more polished tone than the UFO recordings, with the Flying V into a more refined Marshall rig. The guitar is more forward in the mix and the riff is heavier, foreshadowing 1980s hard rock while remaining rooted in 1970s British tone.

Rhythmic precision on the main riff — Armed and Ready requires consistent downstroke power and timing. Schenker uses his right hand more aggressively here than on the melodic UFO material.

Gibson Flying V → Marshall JCM800 or Origin 50W → Wampler Plexi-Drive or similar British-voiced OD for bedroom volumes. Mahogany body plus British amp voicing is the essential combination.
