Paco de Lucía's preferred instruments were handbuilt by the Conde Hermanos luthier family in Madrid — the gold standard of flamenco guitar construction. The cypress back and sides (traditional flamenco construction) produce a drier, more percussive tone than the rosewood classical guitar.
